I just got a Kawasaki KLR 650 to do the TAT trip, does anybody know where I can get accessories from in the UK, stuff like a better bash plate, protection parts and all the rest of the stuff to make sure it survives 3500 miles with me falling off at least once a day

KLR in UK was a long time ago, and fabricators have moved on..... but in USA, they are still big time.
But, purchasing from USA has the cost of postage which is a killer....
Do you know any fabricators yourself that could fold a sumpguard up for you?

For service items use www.wemoto.com, they are the best.

Tyres are limited with the narrow 17" rear wheel, but TKC80, MT21 and Mitas CO2 should cover any trail use intended for your purchase.

They were a great bike, and still are in USA, reading some of the stories on advrider will show you that.

Post up a picture and let's have a look.....

I do know trhat terry NW has been running one on the trails for as couple of years now, he may have some tips....

Timpo.

I,ve still got a new clutch cable and a manual for a KLR650 if ya want em...

Many thanks for the offer. I am picking it up on sunday (hopefully) and Warrington is not far out of the way for my return trip, if you drop me a pm with your number I can give you a call.

i use to have a klr 650 but found it ok but it had a 12l tank. as some of the models have got 12l tanks and some have got 21l tanks. there are lots of info on the klr on the http://www.advrider.com/forums/ as lots love them and other people hate them.
