How dare you suggest that its just flat around here! Ever heard of Dunstable Downs?? eh eh well? :) Yes your right there is not much around here but thats the point of the £1200 bike, to get me away from this mad max set. :)

12k :) well the test ride is tomorrow and im guessing it will have road tires. Thanks for all your posts. R

The GS will hold its own against any sportsbike! Off rode I ride a 650. Lighter and easier to pick up if it goes over compared to the quarter tonne of the GS.

Err......... no it won't. Just because you can scrape a peg on a 1200 doesn't mean you can keep up with an R1.

I know this for fact. :(

Ive run TKC`s for 30000 miles now and not had one moment. Thats commuting in London, 300 motorway miles every week and off road at the weekend. Did the Stelvio Pass on them last week and again, no moments.

Most the folk that say " ooooh TKC`s, there lethal" have never run them. So say balls to them and get a set.

They look the dogs nads too!

Funny last w/end round the Nurburgring they were doing a good job as being little more than over -weight and under - powered mobile chicanes :blast

In the dry mine are fine for how I ride, in the wet last night and this morning though Burnham Beeches they slipped on the odd white line and spun up on a couple of overtakes but you know it's going to happen and it's easy to ride wthin their limits

Hi been looking on here for a while and have seen the ODD gs with knobblies. This will be my choice when I raid the piggy bank later in the year. My only experience with such tires is on much lighter bikes. Just wanted to know how riders using these get on on the hard to avoid tarmac bits. How much more cautious do you really have to be?

Mate of mine went on that south American ride with kevin and julia Sanders. He fitted Knobblies to his bike and told me that on the road it felt like riding on marbles. He took the bike to MC Technics suspension specialists In stowmarket suffolk. The bike was set up properlyand it was better although not perfect. Paul the wealthy sod he is splashed out on an ohlins front shock and said it felt just like riding on road tyres. Darren is the boss there an ex racer and top guy you may have heard of him as he is well regarded by the bike mags. This little company has helped many of the guys in our club. Hope some of this will help you out. Dave.:D:thumb2
