Has anyone been to Ladakh/Leh in August, and if so, what weather did you get (and Temps).? Tia

Got a specific day, date and time?

Arsey to the red phone…. Urgent call, line one.

On August 1st it’ll be a max of 25 degrees with light showers clearing by 1400.

On 15th the temperature will have dropped to a max of 23 degrees and should be mostly dry until 18th .

Hope that helps ?

My mate, who knows stuff, has been telling me about this thing called Goggle or summat like that. It’s well easy to work, even for numpties like me. I guess the inventors of Goggle will be chuffed it it catches on ‘cos they might make a few quid.

Ladakh in August

Paying a visit to Leh Ladakh in August is certainly feasible and much more enjoyable, as it becomes a favorite monsoon holiday destination despite being located in a dry, rain-shadow zone. The untold truth regarding traveling to Ladakh in August is that it is pretty challenging to navigate the roads here. Because of water streams and landslides, the routes become particularly difficult to drive.

I’ve been there late August, early September. Weather included everything from persistent heavy rain and snow to beautiful sunshine.

Be prepared…

Same as in Picos. Makes sense !

Pah!

You have included September. September is irrelevant. August is the month in question. Indeed, if the OP wants news on the weather in early-to-mid-August, your post is still irrelevant.

It was much the same in EC1 yesterday. Today also, but no snow.

This is an invaluable offer.
August 2024 - Started in Srinagar then to Leh, Panong Lake and Turtuk
No rain.
Wore a full mesh suit all the time with nothing but a Tshirt under it, didn't need anything else even when traveling the passes at over 5000 meters.
Wore a light jacket one evening to keep the chill off

so Hot!

Also did three weeks at that time. Took Endurance shirt, pants and body armour for the warm days, and a goretex jacket and fleece for the very wet and snow days (a truck took our kit from stop to stop). You will have a fantastic time, hope you have a head for heights.

Even at high altitudes it is warm in the day , but at night if camping you will be glad to have that Yak bed cover , it’s bloody cold and at 4500m you will be Cheyenne stoke breathing 😎😎
