Lambda oxygyn sensor

Hi folks
How can I find out if my bike has a Lambda Oxygyn Sensor? It’s a 2004, stock R1150RT, USA model.

Look at the exhaust pipes, from the exit of the cylinders, to the start of exit of the cat.. if it has any electrical type connecters comming out that will be the lands sensor. Another way to confirm it is does the bike have a cat fitted? If it has a cat fitted it will have lambda sensors ( whether) there connected is another matter

Check between the catalytic box and the muffler. That short section of exhaust pipe, you should see what looks like the top of a spark plug with a thick wire coming from it.
My 1150 has it at the top of the OEM pipe.

If aftermarket, it could have been removed and the hole capped off.

Thanks guys, found it. Is it prone to failure? Is it possible/advisable to take it out?

Yes you can take it out , but why?

If its not broken or stopped working then leave it in there. its purpose is to keep the air/ fuel ratio correct

It's so you dont damage your engine & kill all the baby seals

Thanks Santa-2512. I wouldn’t want to kill all my baby-seals, now wouldn’t I! Just hate everything called “sensor”. Sensors usually fail before the part/parts that they are supposed to monitor. This one is different then, more like a regulator if I understand this correctly. The reason I asked is that John Gemi offered me to try out his new updated Stage 8 chip and he asked if the bike was equipped with this gadget.
