On Sunday morning I started the bike & noticed I had a LAMPF! error on the display.

A quick look round the front confirmed the headlight was duff, so decided a quick trip to Halfords for a new bulb at lunchtime on Tuesday would be called for.

Started the bike to head to work this morning & had the LAMPF! error again, but during some filtering in Slough I flicked on the main beam & following that I noticed that the dipped beam had started working again, so it wasn't the bulb that had gone.

Anyone got any ideas what the cause might be?

check your battery, when the voltage gets low and the battery gets lazy this seems to happen, I guess it's got something to do with the electronics trying to take the load off the battery.

Has happened me to - I changed the bulb and problem sorted. Don't know if there's a small drop in voltage or what :nenau

Check your prices as well. Went in to Halfords last week and walked straight out as the cheapest own brand H7 is £9. Local motor factor £4.50.

Thats useful to know, will go to the local Brown Overall instead of Halfords :)

Similar thing happened to me two weeks ago - replaced dipped beam bulb, bulb error still showing on dash, pulled the full beam bulb out - nothing wrong with it. Put it back in, flicked the switch and hey presto, error sign disappeared. No issues since then. Maybe just a procedure you have to go through to reset the dash?:nenau
