A mate (seriously) has just got rid of his TV as he reckons that he can view everything that he wants to watch via iPlayer/catch up etc on his laptop (not Mac)

At the mo' he connects his laptop to a monitor via a HDMI cable, but would obviously prefer to do this wirelessly and I know that there are various gadgets out there for doing this, but neither of us has a clue what to go for. I've told him that someone here would point him in the right direction.

Pretty please, could someone please recommend a laptop to monitor streaming device.

Thank you......:)

go to google ,just type "Intel(R) WiDi Update Tool",follow the link ,it will download itself and update what is necessary. After installing open the widi icon,go to settings>general settings>check the "scan for legacy wireless displays" and apply.Done!just scan and then u r ready to go.njoy

Thanks for the reply but I'm not sure that I explained things very well...:blast

My mate's monitor is not WiFi so therefore it will need some sort of gadget to pick up the WiFi stream from his laptop....:thumb2

HTC do one I use it often, £40 I think. Anyway it will stream hd content via WiFi to an hdmi socket.
