HI Sorry to be lazy but i need a quick answer if possible to the size of the two C/S allen bolts that hold the rear grab rail, and mudguard assembly together at the back of an 1150.....

I bought a rear rack extension (rugged roads??) from Motorworks for my trip this summer
(Picos 2009) and when placed under the grab rail the bolts are not long enough to get a purchase in the captive nuts underneath....

they look like M6 and about 60mm... any ideas of size....(at the weekend i can take apart and measure, but i was hoping to order this week and fit at weekend....)

Thanks in anticipation! ( probably of pi55 taking)

Definitely M6, but not sure what length you'd need to take account of the rack thickness.

Edit:
This page: http://www.xmission.com/~wendell/R1100GS/frame.html
says M6 x 75 (note that it's 1100 specific, although I think that the rear rack etc on the 1150 is the same?)

Thanks Mattw.... what a site, just 13 minutes from question to answer.... superb!!

That is the same set up, M6 * 75... i'll order some M6 *100... that should do the job... thanks again.
