Oddly though, I have had a water-pump shaft seal fail on my '05 K1200S during my ownership of the LC.
Transference....? Maybe it's time to sit both bikes down and ask them when they started hating their mothers.

I just now at 25K noticed coolant residue around the weep hole maybe not enough for them to authorize replacing the pump though. Mt friend's 14 R1200GS is currently leaking much worse and another friend's F650 twin's leaked bad enough to need replacing. Might be time for BMW to find a different vendor for their pumps. That's about the only consistent problem I'm hearing about on these bikes.
