Hi Folks
I am hoping someone can help me, my R1200GS (06) has a small oil (it feels like oil rather than hydraulic fluid) leak from the rear end of the engine, it appears to be coming from the clutch slave cylinder area and I am suspecting the input (??) shaft oil seal. Would this be correct or is there another suspect more likely to be the cause?
If the seal is the culprit how complicated a job is changing it?

oil leak

I had that on my gs and was told that it is not serious but as I was going away to europe I had it done. It is only an oil seal and from memory it cost me about £40 at Bath Road Motorcycles. Job done :beerjug:

Thanks Katnip, most appreciated and reassuring, I’ll give my local dealer a call tomorrow and see what they say.

The clutch uses mineral oil as its hydraulic fluid.

DO NOT use DOT4 brake and clutch fluid.

Prob your pushrod seal that is away.£7 something from bmw and a fairly straight forward change.

Thank you for all your help, ordered a pushrod seal this morning and I'll change it myself. Local dealer wanted four hours labour to do it.
