Hey Les
I went into oceans the other week with the new hids on to try and get them to re-set the computer on my bike to stop it saying lamp -f, and got the comment that they dont do that Si ive put the original side light back in , no problems. So what do you think!!! im starting to have problems with the digital readout that its not showing which gear im in etc ,but everything is okay ,light, mileage, temp, fuel ,just no gear selected or neutral , do you think they are going to slope and blame that fault on the hid set up ???? or say that putting the hids on has negated my warrenty???
, just throwing it on the site to see what you guys thinkonyack
Thought I was onto a winner with this LED bulb but unfortunately I have the NN rear LED and I get !Lampf
On connecting a GS911 diagnostic unit. Central Vehicle Electronics shows Fault 41789 Park light malfunction - open circuit. The fault was currently present and could not be cleared. Put the original filament bulb back in and fault clears. It is not drawing enough current and the CANBus thinks the bulb has failed.
Disconnected the NN rear LED, used standard filament stop/tail bulb and tried again but still !Lampf. I thought it may be the combined LED units not drawing enough current but mine fails even with standard lamp. My bike is '56 GSA, the faster white version.
Some people say they have turned the led bulb around and it still works sometimes removing the !Lampf indication. This is unusual as all the LED sidelight bulbs I have tried only work one way round as they are diodes. Not sure it they have a different bulb with additional electronics which allows it to work either way and fools CANBus into thinking sufficient current is being drawn.
Hope this helps. I have tried additional resistors in the past which removes the failure but they just got too hot for my liking. No doubt someone will come up with an answer. Not sure if the CANBus current threshold can be altered.
Regards
Peter
PS the 35W ballasts are all fitted on the plate and work perfectly, Thanks once again.
I ordered an LED yesterday ... but I have the NN LED rear lamp fitted too. My bike is '57 plate (manufactured September) ... but I'll wait on having a go and then will report back.
Every single 501 wedge LED I have tried has produced a !lampf warning on my 56 GSA. The only solution I have found so far is to fit additional resistors which get very hot.
Can you guarantee 100% that yours will work with ALL models of the 1200GS range?
Les,
I'm experiencing the same lamf indication on my Sept 09 GS ... i believe that some systems are more sensitive than others & mine thinks the bulbs blown due to the LEDs drawing next to no current

only been a problem with the 07 and rear LED lights, just cannot seem to get them working on every year model, send it back for a refund if you want, no problem.
