Left heated grip packed up.

Just noticed that the left side heated grip has stopped working. Any ideas???

Mine did the same, it's a pretty complex fix but here's my comprehensive guide to sorting it out...
















1) Take it to your dealer


Phew *wipes brow*, if you need help on other tasks, such as opening your front door or making a cup of tea be sure to give me a shout.

On a serious note mine stopped working, told them before I took it in for it's 12,000 mile service and they changed it in a jiffy.

My left also went, changed by BMW FOC.

The left breaks due to pulling the bars to get it on the stand .

My left died too. Even without mainstand.
Changed by the BMW dealer. Free of charge.

My left heated grip has been bust for a while now and just put it down to '1 of those things'!!
Guess its time to have another 'FUN' discussion with local BMW garage

My RIGHT grip has a fookin issue now - just when I need it!

It will work, but switching it from max to min turns the RHS right off! Won't re-start until the ignition has been switched off and the 'brain' re-set...

I have just traded in a 800s for a gs, the left grip on my s failed and it is a common problem on this model, and it seems on the gs! You would think the throttle grip would fail first as it`s always being twisted.
