Service postponed until I receive my new Harmonizer
Cleaned the garage though and It's spotless but took ages. During the grind, I got thinking about what I've been through with the bike.
Just thought I'd put an after thought on this thread because I discovered a few things that are either A : not normal or B normal for a 1150gsa Cam chain tensioner upgrade.
It has been mentioned that it's a pain in the hole getting a spanner to the tensioner. Perhaps this refers to GS' and not GSA's? I could get my halfords professional range ratchet and torque wrench easily onto the tensioner head.
In fairness, I've been the unlucky recipient of an all mighty flucking whallop from a car while parked up and I also took the bike off road

So maybe my bike is bent out of shape and I shouldn't be able to put a ratchet near the tensioner

Personal experiences welcome folks

Does yours do this? BMW tell me the bike seems fine but my center stand is completely sned.
Anyway, once I got the tensioner head free, it pulled straight out. The spring must have been past it best perhaps. I had none of the issues documented by others who have done this upgrade. It all popped out and popped back easily and it's torqued down without taking off the wishbone.
Also, the side of the bike in question was the one with the punctured cylinder head...p!$$!n£ oil everwhere. Off roading is not for me

I was worried that it had run dry after reading Bobbles thread but it was caught very quickly by Cracker and repaired by Daithi and the grumpy one. Replaced the head and all ok but the bike has been a noisey old lump since. Hoping I don't have issues down the line.
So what you say!? Well, there is a tiny dent in the end float rocker on mine
Must have knocked it out of spec totally during that crash. The other side of the bike is set to stock but the noisy one had massive clearances. I'd love to have done the end float clearance before I replaced the cam chain tensioner. Just to see which was the culprit.
The bike is lovely and quiet now

. I do think I heard the same noise I had (bobble documented in his video) earlier but it's deep inside the motor and perhaps I have four years.
All need now is a bit of harmonizing and she'll be pulling like a train again
