Just bought a lighter socket so i can mount my gps, does anyone have any photos of where you have yours mounted? Trying to keep it maybe just under dash, and was thinking of using some strong velcro glued in place.
Any thoughts/photos

Why not mount it on the left hand side of the console/beak where the 1150 GSA's have theirs?

Does this mean you will be using it at the weekend? :thumb

This is an old picture, I binned the old GPS DIN socket and moved the LED and put in the BMW 12v socket on the left hand side of the two switches.
the little black box came from maplin and is screwed to the underside of insturment panel. Its a good match in terms of colour and texture.

Like it Warlock:D
Still not sure Macca:nenau we are crap aren't we:confused:
Thanks for the piccy Jimbo, what else did you wire up on there:nenau It looks really nice and tidy.

Sounds a good idea, but probably easier just going with the (dare i say it) lighter socket:D It is designed for bike use from Louis over here in Germany, so should be ok(I hope:augie )

Why go to the effort of fitting a socket and risk getting water ingress, just hard wire the GPS in direct from the batttery?

Because some might want to use a cigarette lighter outlet to charge a cell phone (or whatever)...I do.
