It might be just be me and the fact that my headlight was pointing a little high (now adjusted) i do also have a cover / protector on it.
but i found the R1300 lights average on low beam! this was on unlit B roads.

need to have a look at abikething website for Aux lights i think

I ordered mine with the BMW Aux lights because they were a relatively cheap add on at order. They give a really good spread of light on country lanes and I keep them on all the time as running lights to make me more visible. I don’t think they are a cost effective retrofit though, so Denali D2’s or something similar but that comes with the added expense of a controller, which is why I included the BMW option.
I’ve since bought a spare pair off here just in case.

I added the aux lights to my order too as I had seen complaints about the standard headlight on here. I also have them in all the lime as “running lights” and they give decent illumination on dark country roads .

Nippy Norman has a very good deal on a full package of Denal D7,s for the Gs1300, I just took delivery of them.

Nippy Norman has a very good deal on a full package of Denal D7,s for the Gs1300, I just took delivery of them.

The headlight is absolutely fine on mine too, I just had the Aux lights specced for additional running lights as I’ve learnt how blind some drivers can be.
Having said that the Auxiliary lights do give a nice additional spread of light.

No mistake, I’ve got mine, not fitted yet as I’m waiting for the right hand switch to be replaced under the recall then I’ll get it all fitted

Anyone know if this kit is compatible with the GSA?

I understand some of the feedback on the current headlamp. Hopefully adjusting the height will resolve if that’s possible.

My experience so far is that there seems to be a rectangle blank through the light towards the bottom of the beam pattern. This is on both dipped and main for me.

It has aux lights yes. Thinking on it now this may be the blank. The beam from these finish, small blank and the beam from headlamp starts….

these are just my finding! other people find them perfectly acceptable.
To late now anyway bought some AUX lights

I collected a 1300gsa 1st March to replace a 24 plate 1250gsa. I specified the top headlight and only got to experience it last Sunday when leaving Chester at 05.30hrs to travel to Cirencester using predominantly the A49 and A417, a route I know well. The headlight on dipped beam was very good but main beam,other than illuminating road signs, gave very little(if any!) improvement over dipped beam and until sunrise at about 06.15hrs I gave up bothering to use it. Night ride also highlighted that despite all the fanboys saying that you don’t need backlit switches they would indeed prove to be invaluable! Try working the stupid new heated grip system in the dark, you’ll see what I mean. Several different switches to do what every previous GS managed with one simple switch- many thanks to the dictatorial know it all residents of the glorious fatherland.Back on topic I don’t think the current headlights are up to much, based on our gs’s and bmw car perhaps bmw need to head of to Stuttgart cap in hand to ask Porsche for advice.

Just allocate heating as the first choice for the rocker switch, then you’ll have up for grips and down for seats

If you want heating you probably don’t want to be lowering your screen

For the summer just inverse the selection as the opposite will generally be true

Interesting that MCN rated the lights on the r1300gs over the other bikes in their recent adv test. Where the GS came 3rd or 4th. What to believe eh? Though tbh the paper publication is only worthy of fire lighting duties. So not sure of the value of their opinions on youtube videos.

Tbh, very similar to my superduke heated grips. Set on my ‘favourites’ button so quick to find.
