Loading new software

Recently bought new software and when I attempt to install this, my computer jams. It allows me to install the first CD and when I am instructed to insert the second CD, the computer jams. The software is compatible with my PC and I have tried turning off the firewall to see if this helps. However, the problem still occurs. Any advice.

Sounds like the second CD might be corupt

Try loading in on another pc

Thanks for your suggestion. I should have said I have already had a friend try the software and it worked okay.

is your friends pc at a different level of software? ie: are you windoze 98 and he's xp etc etc

sorry for lack of info here...no, both pc's are less than 6 months old and both are Windows XP

CD players etc.

All CD player are built to tolerance + or - a gnats cock

It just might be this disk and your PC are at each end of the limit its happened to me before.

So if your mate has a CD burner ask him to make a copy and try that.

If it happens on more than one CD on you're machines take it back its under a year old...
