Long distance 950SE..

Thats more like it :D
Kings Class 1. Simo Kirssi 09:02,93, BMW Motorrad Motorsport 2. David Knight 09:06,8,

Erzberg results would suggest you are wrong Pip :P:P:P

Even though KTM fielded probably the best rider in the world, they still lost :D:D:D

it's more a sports tractor...:thumb2

I never paid 12K for it either...

okay my mine was 7K but then mine will be oh hang on is a classic already and yours will be just another KTM....

game set and match...:D

Ouch, no need for that:handbag I think we'll leave that with the style police:augie I like both bikes by the way AND think your screen works well to hide the headlight. (That was a compliment in disguise by the way). It had been a year long toss up between a 1200 adv and a ktm adv, then saw the SE and bought it on the spot. So far so good, I love it. Life's too short to worry about something being a classic or not but I think its rather special. Steve Mc Queen got the fame/ladies for his bike and antic;'s, you or I wont:beerjug: put the guns away even though I think I strarted it:gringo

ps what handguards are they please? Im still without and looking for the right pair+thought i'd given the dealer enough money for one day.
Regards. Richard

Low punches while not pretty are very effective...:augie anyway as I've said the KTM is a pretty bike and I'm trying to get a long test ride. There is a beauty in the ugliness of the HP which is hard to rival it has a form of anti-style so to speak. I especially like the head light it's got that retro 80's looks. Almost as if BMW finally cleared out a long forgotten store room and tried to fit the crap they found onto a bike.

it is in effect ueber anti cool, making it past sub zero. (it is 0 degrees kelvin! in my opinion) I've never seen another going into london in the 2 and a bit years I've had mine...not like the swarms of 1200's, KTM's of every description... and with every bolt-on you can get.

it's mustard

however not that's just my opinion and the style police will just have to join the cue of people who stop and look when I park up. :D(probably cos I look like a midget stuck on raging beast and my feet don't touch the ground...:blast)

anyway there you have it...:beerjug: hehehehe...

Having parked my covered in shit HP2 quite illegally on a payment to run in to a store, I was returning to it when I saw two traffic wardens checking it. There was no tax disc displayed, the plate was too small, it was parked illegally and I walking back to it carrying my helmet, thinking I'm gonna get some abuse here! As I arrive, the female traffic warden says: "Is this your bike?" "Yes" I say, thinking - here we go....

"It's seriously cool!" Is her response and she walks away! If you can convince a traffic warden not to give you a ticket, how much cooler does it get!?

PS: Lo-IQ - I've ridden my HP in to London probably 30/40 times, so you obviously weren't looking :P

MAV

30-40 times well I suppose London is rather bigger and there must be other HP's about. Anyone know how many got sold in the UK?

I did get stopped by some bloke near St. James Palace who said how cool is was...and he was on a KTM....:thumb2

sorry meant to say the hand guards are Acerbis but needed bit of work to fit'em on the HP.

Offer very good wind deflection etc.

Apology accepted. Dont :mcgun me down if you have, but I havent seen an SE either on the road. Face it we both own parts bin acquired taste machines but both firms have done well with those parts. Good luck getting a test ride, I wasnt even allowed and I was 100% buying one.........so yes silly I know but bought it without having a spin but all's well that ends well.
Still running mine in but my service isnt till the 25th so im having to ration the miles unless they give the cancellation call I requested. May pop into London myself at the weekend to see whats new.
ps- my feet are not as on the floor as im used to either and im 6"2:guitarist

They do go well on gravel tracks in a quarry :thumb2

Not so good in deep ruts :D

Lo IQ i love your bike must admit that photo gave me a semi but not a raging hard on (!!) like the SE does :D:D:D

Ps think its refreshing how hp2 and SE owners seem to be swapping compliments and respecting each others creation,

Wonder if this mutual back slappin will transfer to the HP2MM & 950/990 SM Owners ? Mind, with an MM and a 950 SM,i can sit with either camp.

The HP2E and SE DO look good, though,it's just that knobbly tyres frighten me.

When I've got the suspension at the proper height, I can barely reach the ground with one foot, let alone both, if I don't scoot of the saddle  It's amazing how long you can balance without putting your feet down:augie:D

And as for the mutual back slapping: KTM's suck!

:hide :D :aidan :beerjug:

Since im drunk i'll ignore that, and im guessing you are too to have said something so nasty:tears

I saw a GIRL:nenau in Hamburg on a hp2 and her feet were both firmly on the ground, German spec bikes must be smaller:augie

I bid you goodnight despite your cutting nonsense!:D

or german burds have got longer legs...:augie

I was oot aboot on me luverly sports tractor today and got some funny looks up in London from some chap on a KTM while I was looking for Bracken ready for my trip oot on a Ktm...

Bloody bloke seemed a right bellend hogging the road and getting in my way, I might just have to go back to my old ways and shout "KNOB!" at other road users...:blast

Yes shouting and losing it in a helmet is not healthy+confirms to them, they got to you:spitfire Following them home used to do the trick but its slippery path, now i just wave like an old man:rob

What great >orange< bike did you chose from the firm who make great bikes? The SE? Been out all afternoon on mine and only came back because its my housemates turn to pay for tonights indian:D

Any bolt-on bargains there? Need to source a din plug tomorrow or better a plug, lead and multiople normal cigarette plug sockets. Am i asking to much from tomorrow morning? R

well it's a complex story but I want several bikes and the dealer in question seemed to think I've broken something in my head. So I've called one of the head marketing blokey's at KTM who's struggling to come to terms with my idea... Just proves KTM lack grand vision... they've got till monday then I'll call the guy at Yamaha....

I like complex stories! Anyway so did you not have a spin at all then?
You'll always be wondering if you dont. The future's bright, the future's orange:hide

you guys must be hiding behind buses or something.. never seen an HP2 in London and I commute on mine everyday for a year and a half now..

the only appreciative comment I got was from a coper on a police BMW, asking what on earth was my bike "...'cause it looked like a cool BMW.."
---
but what are you (us) HP2ers doing in this thread..?
