With mainbeam there is a long range driving light and with the dipped beam on there is a fog light for greater spread. Don't like it myself as I think the triangle looks best.
Ok, I admit this is UKGSER - but it is a great forum and many of the participants are attracted from other areas than the UK. The bike itself is of course also sold in many different areas – and to no big surprise what is standard for one area may very well not be it for the other. Hence in Norway everybody consider the lights to be part of what a std GS ADV is…
That said I think the TT approach make a lot of sense to tackle a wide variety of driving conditions. A HID upgrade of the regular head lights may be a cheaper and possibly better solution though…
