hi,
just joined (even after all the slagging you seem to give each other!) and wanted to say that, partly thanks to sites such as this, and partly thanks to Ewan n Charley, am looking at getting back onto a bike, in particular a nice big GS. :D

Only one stumbling block as I see it - the bank account (and she who monitors it mercilessly). Have only been off 2 wheels for 18 months but realise once more how damn cool they are and how you can miss biking: its like you've had a limb removed and not bothered to reattach it. :(

Another thing (says whilst ducking), I've only had Jap bikes up to this point, mainly Hondas. There, said it.

Welcome form another Just Joined:thumb Like you I have been off two wheels, not quite as long though. I had an RT till June and decided to sell it, what a mistake:( , never mind got the 1150GS now and I'm well happy

Welcome to the slagging off initiation ceremony. :drums

So yet another buying into the image, do you also have a Landrover Discovery for the school run and shopping trips. Oh please don't tell us your last 'bike/scooter' was a Pan.

But welcome all the same:beerjug:

Tim:)

a Land Rover Discovery!?

I see I've successfully made the wrong impression already! :P
Nah mate, currently struggling along with one vehicle between me and my more curvaceous half - Ford Escort estate. And no desire to join the 'Cheshire set' either...

Last bike was a CBR400 GullArm, cos I dropped my VFR800 one cold, wet morning commuting when a lorry pulled across in front to get to the petrol station on my side of the road.
Sold the CBR400 in 2003 to a spotty Brummy lad who'd just passed his test - think at the time I was a bit disillusioned: not long after, sold my leathers on Ebay!
You know the rots set in when you do things like that.

At least still got my Gericke jacket n trousers, and kept the helmet n gloves too! :) Hoping they'll all get some use in the nr future...
