loose boxer engine

Could anyone tell me when a boxer engine starts to feel "sweet"? I test rode a 1200gs at the weekend and it felt as tight as a gnats chuff, and riding my 35000 1150 home i was struck by how fluid the old beak felt. Is there a magic mark when a new motor suddenly spins up freely?

Mine didnt free up till about 25K, another reason not to run them in?

Long distances, higher speeds, never reved the nutzzz of it, my bike at 37000km now, only came untight around 30000km = 20k miles.
