Lost favourites etc.

I've just run an antivirus scan and for some reason all my favourite bookmarks have been wiped. It doesn't normally do this.
Is there any way of recovering them?

but you're not - i'm sure of it.

If you use Firefox, there should be a profile with all your bookmarks and settings stored on your system........instructions for finding it are HERE

it may be that the file name has become corrupted

No, but have a look at where they're supposed to be......

C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Favorites

If they're not there, ya fekked, (unless a system restore as suggested above may retrieve them) but it's possible that the file may have just been corrupted

Back home now, switched the computer on and they're all there again. Result!

or even opera - which has dynamic synchronise over more than one 'puter

and they've just released opera unite - which looks pretty fekin awesome - which is direct sharing and other stuff

heralded as the start of web 3.0
