Bikes 1150 adv, I think the can on the back looks favorite Mike.Im sure the fuel light came on at the last 2 bars but not had it that low for some time so can't be 100%. weather looks OK so off out for a run Sunday.(think I'll take a fire extinguisher to).
It's what I did - got 37 miles from the light coming on until it ran dry - that's 37 miles absolutely caning the nuts off it - I figured that gave me a minimum range...
There is a school of thought that you might risk damage to your fuel pump by running it dry, or that you might stir up crap in the tank.
Well, the crap in the tank is the reason you have a fuel filter and, as for running it dry damaging the pump - what are you going to do when you
are low on fuel - stop to protect your pump, or try and make the next petrol station?
Mike
ps I'm guessing you should repeat the exercise every time you have the fuel pump/filter off (24kservice item), as the chances are the sensor will have been altered a little...
