Low voltage message.

Carpuride W702BS unit.

No warning on TFT, but when charger reconnected it is low.
That does sound ‘normal’ - even after a long run, when the bike is reconnected to an ‘intelligent’ charger, the charger runs through its program of opening the Canbus (you can hear a quiet click) and then registers a mid-range, less-than-full charge.
The charger then gradually brings the charge to ‘full’ over the course of the next few hours.
After this, a “maintenance charge” is periodically triggered by the charger, to maintain the full state.

This is explained in the charger manual, though might not be in the clearest of English TBH.
I think you’ve nothing to worry about.

They tell me it an intelligent charger 🤔, but ….. if I didn’t charge the battery to full and went out on another rider when it’s low charge, what would the consequences be then 😬
batteries will develop a surface charge , so it never give its full power cos it depleted this surface charge , and a "skin" develops over most of the battery surface , it seems to be OK , but it isn't . get the battery tested .
 
On the BMW R1300GS, seeing a temporary "Low Voltage" pop-up alert on the Carpuride W702BS 2 to 3 seconds after starting the engine is a incredibly common behavior that affects almost all owners of the BMW GS in the navigation cradle.

Why This Happens on the R1300GS
  • The Lithium Battery Factor: The BMW R1300GS comes equipped with a lightweight lithium starter battery. When you crank the starter motor, the heavy electrical draw causes a temporary drop in the battery's voltage.
  • Delayed CAN bus Power: Because the Carpuride boots up via the factory GPS prep mount, it monitors the voltage being delivered through the bike's CAN bus system. During the engine start cycle, the lower voltage information is read by the Carpuride unit just as it powers on, triggering its built-in low-voltage warning.
  • Quick Stabilization: As soon as the engine catches and the generator kicks in, the voltage jumps up to around 14V, and the message automatically disappears.
So this is a Carpuride red herring, how the voltage rises on the nav cradle after switch on, and mine does exactly the same thing, but my CarPlay doesn't blurt out a warning, it just gets on with its business.

If you switch the TFT display to vehicle information and see what the voltage says there when the engine is off. When the bike is running, 14 volts tells you the alternator is working as expected.

Also you said the ride height lowers under 10mph and raises above 10mph - is that not normal behaviour if you have dynamic ride height, mine does that (but its more like 20 mph if I remember). So just to be clear, what is the problem you have?

I have the Carpuride 702BS Pro too and no such warning comes up on my bike.
A low power warning isn't normal.... unless his units borked?
 
I have the Lithium Battery on my R1300GSA. I also have a Carpuride unit. (W702BS) From day one, Everytime I turn the bike on. I get a "Low Voltage" warning issued on the Carpuride. From day one, It was explained to me that Lithium batteries are completely different. And you need to re wire your brain. For example. When you turn the bike on. The Lithium battery is at sleep. And needs time (10 0 15 Seconds) or drainage to stimulate. I put my helmet and gloves on and on The Carpuride screen you can see the Volts rising. By the time I'm ready to start the bike, Its at around 14V. 18 months (20K miles) and its never been an issue. Months away at a time with no plug into a charger. Im certain there is no issue with the battery. Its just how Lithium work.
I plug the bike in once a month (BMW Charger) through the dash mounted Din socket, But never leave it permanently on (Maintain)

Lithium batteries do not go to "sleep" unless completely discharged. When you turn on your ignition the lithium battery instantly delivers it's full voltage. They do not ramp up voltage in any way
 
My Chigee gives the warning too sometimes.

If you turn on the bike and look at the status page in the menu you can see the voltage reading climbing, sometimes slower than others. Sometimes the Chigee flashes the warning before the bike has started reading 12+ volts. I just ignore it
 
Unreal. Switched my bike on today (didn’t start it) and got a voltage critical warning on the dash then warnings on other things. Fired it up and it all cleared!

I always switch the display to show the battery voltage and do not start the bike until the voltage displayed is >12V.
The 'ramp up' is just the A/D converter only sampling every few seconds, however I want to be sure the battery is at least 12V before starting - if the battery voltage is a bit low then it can cause 'hiccups' on starting and error messages on the display.

That's exactly how it was explained to me. Put ya gloves on and wait for the increases. Only 10 - 15 seconds. And has never been an issue.

Just noted this is the 1300 thread, my bike is a 1250 but it has always behaved in this peculiar manner.
