Hi

Macro cash and carry are selling the Garmin Street Pilot 111
Pack contains european city navigator cd-rom,128MB data card, usb data card programmer,12 volt in car adaptor with speaker p.c cable,

For a novice to the world of GPS is this the same as BMW`s
Is it suitable for a G.S
Is it a good buy

Any help would be great as I am thinking of buying a GPS of some sort in the future

Ay anything under £900 it is a good buy. It sounds like the standard "Deluxe" package. Have a good look around the web. There seems to be plenty of discounts available recently.

I would recomend buying a RAM mount for it. You'll need to think about how you want to mount it on the bike and buy the necessary bits. Check the RAM website for all the variations.

It is suitable for a GS or any other bike. I use mine on both my 100GS and my Tiger.

price

Sorry I forgot to put the price £799.99 now you can let me know what you think

Thanks

Gordon,

assuming that the price is for a SPIII Deluxe (which it sounds like - ensure it has unlock codes for all of Europe), then it is as cheap a price as you'll find anywhere at the moment. You may, of course, be able to broker a better deal with one of the on-line retailers using Makro's price as a bargaining tool.....

Mike:)

Except from Many Phillips on ebay, who I believe was selling the delux kit at £699......

Makro normally quote prices ex-VAT (I think) which would make the unit £939.99.

Maplins have it in the High Street for £849.99 (in VAT)
