Maint Schedule Item Question

[Russ-AFC]

On the every 12000 mile Maintenance Schedule it mentions an operating check of the engine starting interlock. Ccould some one tell me what this is please.
Oh and what is the AGM battery.

Starting interlock is I presume not allowing you to start with the engine in gear and the clutch out, may also include not engaging gear with the sidestand down.

The AGM battery is simply the battery, think it stands for absorbent glass matt.

Thanks for the reply Andy. I kind of thought that was all it could relate to but there is a gap of 11 items between check hyd clutch system and check side stand for smooth movement, then further down still it mentions the starting interlock.
I am sure this must be to make it seem unrelated and therefore more technical......
