Simnple task, calculate route from Calais to Como"
There is a problem with this garmin application.
Would you like to send an error report?

blah, blah, lots of error information.

Why is it so hard to calculate a route from Calais to Como FFS:mad:

Hmmm....it does seem to be taking forever to calculate on CN 2011.4 :nenau

It did eventually calculate a route but it's 1433 miles and the file size is more than 5 times the limit for attachments here. It might be better to break it down into several shorter routes.

Rebooted windows, no update for Mapsource available, but it still crashes when trying to calculate the route.

Mapsource is one of he crappest applications I have ever had the misfortune to use. The interface is awful, the missing towns . . blah, blah.

Mapsource V 6.16.3 and City Nav. Europe 2009 took 5 seconds to calculate from Calais to Como.
No crashes and no craps and no missing towns, works for me:nenau

The towns are present - it's just that they may not display according to the zoom you are using.

Have you reported the issue to Garmin?

It's really not that bad. Missing towns...? View > Map Detail > Highest.

By missing towns i mean the ones that can't be found in a search, but you can see on the map.

And why do you have to specify the country when you search for a town? You can see the bloody thing in the drop-down, but it won't let you add it to a route until you specify the country.

And how come DEU=Germany, CHE=France blah blah.

Maybe I've been spoiled by using Mac apps for too long:confused:

Just calculated Calais to Como:

MapSource 6.16.3; CN 2011.4 - it took about 10 secs on my little netbook.
