March fish dash

..............

We traveled to a coffee break & over a mountain. Helped herd sheep – a mutton crawl. Followed the Barrow – the river that is; swam over muddy lanes & found ourselves on a boat.

Had fish & chips – I was hungry; the fish was good the chips had see better days.

This day was good. The chips aside I would like to have personally acquainted with more of the many GS’ers there but so many & so little time.

Left Waterford with the Cork Crew approaching 5 oc. The sky darkened but no real rain. We headed for the "Hindu" gateway.

The 3 lads headed for Cork me for the Kingdom. Heavy rain hit around Fermoy & the dark around Mallow. The wind hit hard as described.

It was my first decent bike trip of the year & it was good – thanks to Aidan for a swimmingly good idea - that worked.

Well guys and girls.... Geraldine's relaxing now, the ankle is a swollen and brusied but she is a tough cookie and fair play to her for getting back on. Thanks a million to all that helped her out of the ditch. Josker and son Darragh, Mandy and Aiden special thanks for a fantastic days riding. Now I must go.... I think I hear Geraldine requesting a re-fill

Hope you are feeling better soon, your one very brave lady....

Well, that went alright didn't it? :)

Thanks to all of you who made the effort to join us on Fish Dash 2. Special mention must go to David Gibson who came down from Coleraine and to GerryC who came over from Tralee. I think we had 23 or 24 bikes in total on the run. :clap:clap Jochen and I can organise all we like, but it is you fine folks who make it all worthwhile and we appreciate it greatly. :bow:bow

The idea might have been mine, but the route was all Jochens work. Thanks JR, it was a blinder. :thumb2

Geraldine, I hope your ankle is better this evening. :comfort You are one gutsy lady and we look forward to you joining us again soon.

It was good to see old friends and to meet new faces.

Right then, where are we off to next?.................................. :)

Where do you find these roads?

Aha, young man, now that is a secret. ;) :D

Geraldine, I hope your ankle is better this evening.

Other than what further damage I can do while getting around on the crutches I was given in the clinic today I'll be fine. Raised eyebrows all round when I had to tell my storey, they expect me to be back to normal in a couple of weeks. :augie whenever Brian can get my gear lever right will be may target date.

Fish Dash

Thank you the Jochen, Darragh, Mandy and Aidan :clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap. Myself and Martina enjoyed the run out. The craic was mighty and we hope to attend many more events in the future.

Geraldine I thought you were going to keep that ankle in cold water:augie. Hope you and the bike heal quickly. Geraldine you were not the only one to have a close shave :augie:augie:augie

How is the head David:hide:hide:hide:hide:hide:hide:hide

Looking forward to Kesh now, maybe some more Nordies will be getting their GS's dirty

Ahhhh... don't let the bath fool you, most of the contents of the freezer are floating in the water:augie. David I'm only guessing that the damage to your head injury:augie could have been avoided if you had decided to retire earlier then you did :beerjug:
Nice to have met you guys and girls... looking forward to the next one:thumb2

Geraldine you were not the only one to have a close shave :augie:augie:augie

Yes, one full on cornering butt swallowed the seat episode hving rolled on instead of rolling off in the corner, and one back end minor sliding episode, but by that stage I was getting used to it. :augie

Up from one on the last one. I must either be getting more brave, or more stupid. :blast

Between one thing & another, not least the fact that the northern contingent kept me up half the night :blast, this is the first chance I've had to post.

As Aidan has said it's the participants that make the run & yesterday we had a great cross section - people we see on most runs, people we only see occasionally & a good smattering of 'new' faces. Hopefully you all enjoyed it & you'll join us again.

Well done to GerryC for travelling from Kerry & David Gibson for coming from Coleraine. I just hope the fish & chips was worth it. I certainly enjoyed mine but then I didn't stuff my face in Bunclody (unlike Flash, Triggerfish & several others I could mention !) & was well ready for it ;)

Thanks to Vireo for ensuring that Tonys was open & ready for us, to Kev.Mide for repairing the flush on the toilet for SWMBO in exchange for a cup of tea and of course to Aidan & Mandy for the excellent sweeping :thumb2

But I think the 'spirit of the dash award' must go to Geraldine for her cheerfulness & determination even after hurting herself.
Well done girl :clap

And finally, apologies to Thinc2 & the others we missed due to running so late. We'll try harder next time :thumb2

Right so, where are we going next time :nenau
:bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1

Spirit............ this is spirit.......... Geraldine asked me if I wouldn't making dinner. Our course I said yes  but I had to ask her were the kitchen was, that takes a lot of spirit.

Thanks again for a fantastic days riding........... and sorry if we delayed the run. And yes we are really looking forward to the next run:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

Thanks

glad you made it back david - didn't envy you your late night run home - by that stage I was knackered and looking forward to Jochen's hospitality. Little did I know that Triggerfish is handy with hair clippers...

I didn't know Geraldine came off until we got to Jochen's house so apologies for not asking how she was! - glad she's ok now though and certainly fair play to her to keep going with that pain! :thumb2

Thanks Lads
