Melting number plates! a solution

Like some other tossers after fitting a Remus, It have melted the nearside edge of my number plate on my 12adv. I have affixed a 50mm wide strip of adhesive aluminium tape as used for sealing glazing bars on conservatory roofs. It has a heat resistant layer and a heat reflective aluminium top layer. Totally water proof and easy to fit.

Have run it now for 600 miles with no deteriation at all, the original plate melted after 200 miles of fitting the end can!

I got a 4m roll of the stuff from my local Mole Avon farm store for about £4 (lot of those gentleman farmers have conservatories you know).

Good tip
So what you're saying is; your number plate will no longer melt on the LHS and will be perfectly legible by all other motorists,police ociffers and speed cameras?

Have the same problem on the remus can ! Does screwfix sell this type of product at all?
