Hi

After 6500 miles the original Tourance on the Triple Black rear was down to 2mm and slightly squared off so time for a change.

After a few minutes research on here I went for the Pilot3s.

Couple of photos of the tread pattern - interesting. Apparently the first time the dealer had fitted them to a GS - it was also the first stealth GS he had seen!

I have only done 10 miles on wet roads so no real feedback yet. But its only once you have fitted new tyres that you realise how bad the old ones were. Crossing white lines and ridges now go unoticed.

After two pairs of BT23's on my gixer 750 where the front was very badly worn, pyramid shaped and uneven before the back was worn out I'm very pleased with my first pair of Pilot Road 2's. 8,000 miles, Scotland, Germany, the Pyrenees and a track day later the rear is almost worn out but the front is in better shape.

A mate's had the PR3's fitted on his gixer 1000 and was pleased with them after a few k's. I'll be fitting them to my gixer too soon unless I can get some PR2's with a good discount.

Hi all,
I have covered about 1600 miles on my R1200ST with pilot road 3s, Last week whilst England was basking in a heatwave i decided to do a three day mini-tour of Scotland. Travelling up from Staffordshire and staying in Stirling i toured around Border region one day ,The following day i took a trip to the isle of Skye from Stirling returning in evening back to Stirling, weather was grim with wind and rain, Tyres performed Brilliantly very stable and surefooted even in the wet, I have previously tried pilot road 2s and have to say pr3s are worth the small difference in cost. When the weather plays ball these tyres grip like the preverbial to an army blanket. hope this info helps:ronno

PR3s

I fitted them to my K1300s and they were brilliant, esp in the wet. :thumb
Will be keen to fit them to the GS if they get equally good feedback.
Only drawback will obviously be taking the bike off-road.

hi all
one of the bike mags a month ago or so had a write up on these tyres and they were getting their knee down in the wet (BRAVER THAN ME ).:clap
must be a half decent tyre to do this:bounce1 , rider too.:thumb
piston.

I've done 3,300 miles on a set of PR3's on my 990 SMT and have nothing but praise for them, wet or dry.:clap
The front tyre especially has masses of predictable grip, but I don't think the rear is going to wear as well as a PR2, looking at it, I think it may make 4,000 to 4,500 miles tops, but I'll happily use these again :thumb2 from me!!

Done 3500 miles on the R1200RT , very pleased with the performance especially in wet ( 2 up fully loaded ) and not a lot of wear.

Got them on my RC8.... Binned the superdoopervauxhallcorsa pro things after 2000 miles as we were off round Scotland and they would have been toasted... The PR3's are holding up well.. showng very little wear despite some super cruising up and down the motorways... Had no issues in the wet. Going to try and get them on a track before the end of the year...

My 1200gs has a Pilot 1 on the front and a 2 on the rear. I'm in the process of changing them back to Conti Trail Attacks. I just don't like the Michelins. Don't know why. They just don't feel right.

I don't like the tread pattern of the 3s, but that wouldn't put me off.

I'm interested in the mileage one could get from the PR3 with a 1200GSA. I'm tempted by it but at £223 against the TR91 £166 plus £7.50 postage for a pair the money has spoken. I got 10000mls out of the PR2 on my R1100S including a few track days so I fitted PR2 to the R1100S again. If the mileage works out to be considerably more than the TR91 I'll fit the PR3 next time.

I've now tried Battlewings (+- 7000mls) and Tourance EXP (+- 5000mls) and the EXP doesn't last very long, even less 2-up. TR91 next.

Time to change my tyres, from Tourance EXP's which were supplied on bike from new. Done 8000miles!
Been reading good things about michelin road pilot 3 trail, so tried getting some but struggling to get prices or availability.
Not convinced many suppliers are aware of the fitment for GS and I want to confirm I get the right trail model after talking to michelin technical.
I might end up getting michelin Anakee II's as I am more confident i'll get right tyres.
So can anyone advise me who can supply me the correct michelin road pilot 3 trail for my bike?
