Ok guys here's the dilema. I currently have a Nolan 102 N -Com helmet which I am reasonably satisfied with and currently connect via bluetooth to Zumo and mobile phone. I now want to expand my system without paying the earth and replacing helmet, fitting Autocom or likewise system. I don't seem to be getting anywhere looking for direction and have come across the Midland 445BT, see link, http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/midland_445bt.htm As the letters suggest BT (bluetooth) and therefore would very much appreciate hearing from anyone who may have faced similar dilema and has and/or considered this system. The only cost incurred would be that of the radio purchase of £90 or thereabouts, thanks in advance,

Can't believe someone here hasn't experience of blue-tooth radios, astounding!

Just spotted this. I've been looking at blue tooth Com's too.

I'm undecided about the 445BT as it doesn't seem to be expandable 'power output wise'.

I've more or less decided that the AE600BT unit also from Midland/Alan is the better option. It works in the same way as the Auto com etc, except that it will run on batteries as well as 12 volts, it will fit in your pocket too.

With this unit I can run the Sat-Nav, Two Way, MP3, Phone and Pillion. All connected through my Midland BT/Scala Rider helmet set.

On the down side; The AE600BT isn't currently available in the UK. Come on Midland. Pull your finger out 'the French have had it for ages'

Hello, find AE600BT available here:-
http://www.ukbikegear.com/ae600bt-p-556.html
and unless I'm getting my wires severely crossed but to buy this unit I would still require the aforementioned Midland 445BT or similar bluetooth compatible radio. I have the Nolan N-Com helmet already and quite happy with it and was just asking if anyone had thought of, contemplated or actually invested in the 445BT and what were the results.
When you say "expandable power output wise", can I presume you mean if someone say wanted to illegally increase the power and therefore increase the range, not that anyone on this site would, but just say someone wanted to?:beer:

Hmmm :mmmm you could say that.

The 445bt should work fine with the N com, as other Midland kit is suggested to do so also. The AE600BT will allow any radio to communicate with the bluetooth head set used with it. It's like an Autocom/Starcom/Evo only more compact and with Bluetooth built in.

When last asked UKbiker told me, the AE600BT was not yet available in the UK. I've sent them an email tonight asking for an update.
