Ride report to follow?![]()

Just been to Dick Lovett - my new white GS of exactly the same spec has just left the factory.
So I should have it in a little while. Dick Lovett will be transferring over the non BMW extras I fitted, apart from the beak extention, because that puts holes in the beak, so can't easily be transferred.
Sorted.
Very happy with that.
Indeed, there are many other failures that can cause a locked back wheel, and they are indeed rare. But funnily enough, I don't find any comfort in that right now.
Hey, your bike nearly killed you, but it's ok, cos it doesn't do that very often at all!
Yeah - makes me feel just great!
To anyone that wonders what the fuss is about - ignorance must be bliss...
As I said, it not a logical thing - it's not about percentages and probabilities, it's about how I feel about it.
I've been riding long enough to know the dangers - yet I still do it ( and will continue).
Yeah, call it being "soft" or "girlie" if you want - but it's severely dented my confidence in the machine at the moment. It will take time to restore it.
i know exactly how you feel…..and for this reason and this reason alone i have given back my RT 1200 LC and have sorted a deal for a new blue GSA …theres no way i could ride that RT "in anger " it would be forever in my mind that the rear end could collapse at any time…no confidence in it at all ,,its gone

Funny that you should feel like that...
Personally, i'm really looking forward to getting my RTLC back, so that i can run rings around all those GS/GSA's.
I've ridden the GSALC and i currently have a new GSLC loaner. But they're not in the same league as the new RT, as a complete road bike package..
In comparison, the GSLC is noisy, rattly, buzzy, fighty, clunky and unrefined.
Still....whatever floats yer boat eh...![]()
Is the RTLC that good !
)..It is, if you're 70 years old!![]()

I heard that Nutty,, I can really go off people fast,

Captain Beaky - any chance that you could let me have the name of anyone who helped you at BMW UK. I don't doubt that the dealer will be supportive, just want to be in a position to help them short circuit the process to getting the situation sorted!
