Missed Gear Changes

Recently bought my first GS and have now put 1500 miles on it. One annoying problem I am finding is that I often experience a missed gear when changing from fifth to sixth and occasionally from fourth to fifth. Is this normal or should I have it looked at?

I had a little trouble at first after riding Yamaha' & Honda's all my life! You'll get used to it!

I missed a gearchange once. It was when my I had a Triumph 2.5 PI automatic. Funnily enough, when I changed to a manual car everything was ok again....spooky or what?

gear changes

Never had a problem in 30,000 miles of GS ownership but i was advised at purchase how to change gear!
Takes a bit of getting used to but is now second nature -
TRY THIS!
1 Preload the gear lever with light foot pressure
2 Shut the throttle only about 1/4 of a turn
3 apply firm pressure during gear change

Seriously - this does seem to work and is very easy to get into
