Missing bolt?

Am I missing something here? Have only just noticed this. Stupid question but should there be a bolt in that hole and if so what size?

Yep reckon you are indeed missing a bolt, I will guess it should be 6mm although without taking it out don't know the length

check its not sheared, and you have half a bolt in there

If not RealOEM, and order a new one

If you only need the one just call your BMW dealer and have one posted to you. Use a drop of thread lock to make sure it stays put.

I swapped to stainless hexheads then swapped back to stainless steel Torx bolts, I decided it made more sense than carrying two sets of tools to cover the various ones I hadn't changed as well

Appreciate the offer Stu. I think I might have an Allen bolt somewhere which will fit, same as the one holding the cylinder guard in the pic.

Hadn't considered a sheared bolt so will have to check that out on the weekend. Thanks for the heads up Mart.

Makes sense to have similar bolts wherever you can. Good idea less stuff to carry.
