phone will always die when you need it the most!
Chris iow said:I was reading this thread at the weekend and was pleased to hear that the 800/750i phones had an RDS radio - been after one for a while currently use an MP3 player with radio but no RDS - so once I get to about Basingstoke (from the Isle of Wight) I loose Terry and his mates on Radio 2 (Clouds and silverlinings come to mind).
Anyway went into the local phone shop (well one of many even here on the Isle of Wight) and even though I have only had my existing phone for a year they have upgraded me to a 750i for no charge whatsoever! Damn strange world we live in.
I will call autocom in the morning for the adaptor - now I need to remember the name of the RAM waterproof box thingy as the one I have was ok for the MP3 but too small for the new toy.
Excellent help lads.
Andy Hird said:Whooaa there kids....you don't need an adadtor for this to that etc.....all you need to do is ring AutoCom and ask for a K750/W800 connector and they'll send you one out for £10. They've only been available for 3 weeks
That's what I did, for my Sony Eric W800 Walkman Phone it plugs straight into the bottom of the phone and has a 2.5mm jack socket at the other end, then plug the cable supplied in the AutoCom kit with a 2.5mm jack plug at one end into it and plug the other end with the 3.5mm jack plug into the Aux2 socket on the AutoCom.....jobs a gud un.
You can use the W800 or K750 as a phone/radio/mp3 player, set it to auto answer and when you receive a call on the go, it will mute the music and you can impress who ever you are talking to by telling them that you are currently procceding down the M1 at one hundred and twenty miles an hour !
You must ask the person who called you to make sure thay hang up the phone correctly or it will keep the call active as it is very difficult to press the "end call" button on your phone if it's stuffed in a pocket or tank bag when on the move.
Hope this helps

It's not buffeting but just general wind/helmet noise. Perhaps the volume on this phone is an issue as it seems very quiet even off the bike. Will the Autocom/Starcom amplify the phone i.e. make it louder than standard?
Another issue was that the radio reception was really poor and that the RDS didnt re-tune the signal, perhaps this is just the area I'm travelling in. Maybe I'm expecting too much here![]()
but I think they are worth the monet as the quality of the sound through them is fantastic
