Do I remember you saying you have a brother who lives on Fair Isle?
Yup .... brother living on Fairisle, I’m there now
Taken a few days to get here, fraught at times, but it all came together eventually
The rides south down to Grutness Pier in lovely sunshine was joyous, lovely. It takes you across the main runway of Sumburgh airport ...
Grutness ...
Nothing there ... ready and waiting
There’s a boat coming in ... there’s a song in there somewhere
Passenger lounge ...
A familiar landmark when you fly or sail to Fairisle... Sheep Rock
Unloaded ... Adventure Cub relatively unscathed, mit Bro Dave
Once at his Croft we got the priorities sorted
But we need to change a gas cylinder before we can cook dinner .... how the hell Dave survived here for over forty years with not knowing the difference between a left hand thread and a right hand thread I don’t know
Also on our boat, delivered by young Amie (Fairisle Posty) shortly after we got back to Daves ... Belgium bier and whisky ...
The Adventure Cub has a new abode for a few days
I will be riding her round the island, up the hills. A WWII German Bomber (Heinkel 111) crash site. I can’t take you to the place where the Spanish Flag Ship El Gran Griffon foundered just outside the harbour entrance. There is much to see and do on Fairisle. More anon folks .... I’m knackered
