My brother is the meteorologist and reports every couple off hours with all the information to the Met Office whereby PredictWind and others, access his information. He has the MBE for services to the Met Office and BBC ... I went to London with him to collect itIf you look at PredictWind..(thanks Symon) you'll see how the storms are progressing north and east..

Nothing like a family catch up; especially with the hard work you've put into it; enjoy;Yup .... brother living on Fairisle, I’m there now
Taken a few days to get here, fraught at times, but it all came together eventually
The rides south down to Grutness Pier in lovely sunshine was joyous, lovely. It takes you across the main runway of Sumburgh airport ...

They certainly weren’t running out of steam when I rode from Stromness to Kirkwall earlier! I was wearing down my chicken strips trying to go straight! My brother is the meteorologist and reports every couple off hours with all the information to the Met Office whereby PredictWind and others, access his information. We’ve been tracking the storms, up past inverness but they’re running out of steam now near Kirkwall. Sumburgh not expecting them.

Ha ha yes it hit Kirkwall all right, but missed us. But hit Sumburgh and went straight up Shetland. Sumburgh was closed for forty minutes because of electrical interference with the ILSThey certainly weren’t running out of steam when I rode from Stromness to Kirkwall earlier! The electrical interference could well be caused by a huge Solar flare presently on the Sun; on the plus side if it’s clear tonight you could be treated to some exciting Aurora Borealis where you are..Ha ha yes it hit Kirkwall all right, but missed us. It was a minor solar flare, but there has been some CME`s that have caused interference....The minor solar flares now present as huge because of the compromised geomagnetic field of the planet, the field is weak, very weak. The electrical interference could well be caused by a huge Solar flare presently on the Sun; on the plus side if it’s clear tonight you could be treated to some exciting Aurora Borealis where you are..![]()
