Hello everbody.

Tomorrow I setting off to ride my 12Adv to Mongolia. I always wanted to do this since i did watch charly and ewank do the same.

I have had lot of preparation on GS for trip like tyres with nobs on top, and oils changed with good mechanic pietro from Liguria. I tried to fit scottingoil but then realised GS had no chain

Can any of 12ADV riders tell me which inner tubes I should take for my trip. Somebody did tell me 12adv has no tubes. Surely not true

ah... easy mistake to make...

The scottyoiler is for not for the 1200's chain [1], you need the special 1200GS specific version that keeps the oil topped up.... with mineral oil... or wd40, or olive oil, your choice, these are recommended oils for the hotter climates.

[1] the chain is cleverly hidden inside the silver arm in a bath of oil, this stops the chain being damaged when off-roading.

You need to take a big lorry tyre inner tube with you, they're great for shooting mongolian rapids on
