More of a Sandwich Box than a Top Box......

Thanks to Roger at ARD Cases, he rushed it through just in time for my trip (night before actually ) !

Never been one for top boxes, but needed something bit more secure for sat nav, extra tools, docs, air pump, etc , so we came up with this "Custom Designed" to fit my 100 GS PD rack.

It's not as large as some top boxes I've seen ( some obscenely large !!!), so called it my "Sandwich Box"- could fit a few pies and half a baguette at a push -

Must be an age thing as i've made two cut down 1200GSA topboxes from damaged panniers.

Put one on my GSA30 and one on Mrs P's G650GS and they always attract attention.

That ARDcase looks really nice and just a handy size for a few sarnies and one of those 1970's tartan plastic topped flasks that shatter inside when you drop them.........!

Good price. How is actually fitted to the bike - did you need anything extra?

Hmmm...I fancy one of those - any chance of some close up photos and a picture of the inside (with a couple of things in to get an idea of scale). How is it fitted the the rear carrier? It would also be useful with some bungee loops on the lid.

Box is fitted to bike by 3 rubber-lined "P" clips, onto the rear rack -easy, and no scratches to the newly powder coated rear sub frame and rack etc.
Of course, Roger did the actual fitting and drilling the box ! And yes it does have the U-bolt/bungee strap things ( however, I much prefer the "eye-safe" Rok straps )!!!

I'll see if I can manage a close up, and show an interior pic too. Won't have the mountains in the background though, just my lock-up.

Hmm! That's what I was thinking. Bit wider too which makes it more useful. also reminds me of the box BM made for the K bikes.

I have a Peli case fitted. While at the Simmer Dim last year a couple of blokes were walking past, one said to t'other ... "Look at that top box, feckin' useless, ya can't get a feckin' helmet in that!"

Don't want to get a helmet in it because it's usually on my head, but so handy for ...

Been thinking of something like this for a long time until I stumbled across this thread. Dropped Roger an email and after pinging some sizes and ideas across within a couple of days I had the pleasure of opening this nice little item

Just perfect for my lock and chain which I always stick in one of those enduro bags but they tend to wear out and disappear from the back of my bike, usually with a very expensive lock and chain inside The little 1/4" Halfords socket set also fits nicely in the bottom with some puncture repair kit and the odd fuse etc.

I can only say the workmanship is superb and Roger managed to capture exactly what I was after from my initial email. The size on this one was 220mm x 150mm x 100mm. I was not expecting the strap hooks on the lid neither all the fitings that came with it so another bonus increasing the smile
