Morocco 3rd Party Insurance

My insurance renewal is due soon, and I need to ensure it will cover me for Morrocco trip in October. Was going to renew with ebike, but they don't cover Morocco. And looking at Carole Nash site (my current insurer) it seems their green card is for touring in Europe only.

Any recommendations?

Yeah this is the standard inclusive policy, but they will issue extra cover (for more money) and you will get an actual "green card", if they will offer cover.
I changed to Carol Nash/Norwich Union from my other insurer for this reason, to get cover for Romania.

I switched to Norwich Union for the same reason back in May this year.

NU was quite a bit more expensive than almost every other quote I got, and the extension to Morocco is still an extra, but if I had to make a claim I would trust NU to pay up.

I would not trust the bit of paper you get at the border crossing - I have heard people say this is nothing more than a tourist tax.

The Moroccan officials accepted my NU Green Card and I did NOT have to buy the local cover.

You could always cancel your NU policy when you get back. Get a refund and buy something cheaper !!

Not an insurance point, but remember October is Ramadam month this year, which may mean you have to plan meals etc with a bit more care.

Who'll insure my bike for Morroco MCE won't

Going to Morroco for a trip at easter phoned my insurance company to see if they'd cover me no joy though .So i'm going to have to take out another a policy a month early anyone recommend a good company who won't charge an arm and a leg.

Carole Nash will do it, normally for no extra cost, just ask them specifically to have Morocco written on the back of the Certificate.

Norwich Union will - but it's not cheap and you have to get an extension for travel outside of Europe.

Rang BMW insurance (Devitts?) who my policy is with. Nice man said he would send me a Green Card with Morocco on it for free. Only covered 3rd party but it'll do me

Just got off the phone from them to be told that they cannot cover me for Morocco

But they could give me cover if I were on a trip run by BMW to Morocco

Just signed on the dotted line with BMW insurance after someone on here mentioning that you can get cover for Morocco.

After timolgra’s advice phoned again today but this time spoke to a lovely lady who said I would be covered TPO. And is sending me a letter stating I have coverer for morocco at no extra charge

See other posts under Dealers section about BMW insurance. Firstly, they told me I would be covered for Morocco and they would send me green card etc. Next they told me I would only be covered TP so OK. After waiting for paperwork, I chased them again and this time I was told that they couldn't cover me for Morocco or Lisbon at all! I politely told them Lisbon was in Portugal which was part of EU and said they would refer back to underwriters!

Finally agree over phone to cover me for Morocco but never sent me anything in writing. After I got back I phoned them again and they still wouldn't confirm anything in writing.

I really hope I never have to make a claim on this policy as they are a complete bunch of muppets in my opinion.

Nice one steve, like I said, with Carole Nash it all depends who you speak to. Whenever there's a hitch always ask to speak with customer services, and yes that lovely lady. whoever she is will sort it.
