Hard work in the heat, well done! We stayed 3 nights in May and managed to see most of the main attractions, but there is so much to see that you could stay a month and not get round to it all.

I try and chose places I've never been to,then I build the holiday around that. This is a five week solo trip(as most of my trips are now solo)You simply can't do 5 weeks on a bike non stop.A question if I may, please. You seem interested in the structure and order of things. How did you chose what to go to see on the trip?
1)Thats easy for you to sayUseful words for we travellers -
1) “Scusa, sono inglese e non parlo italiano” Delivered with a smile and apologetic shrug, although it’s somewhat surreal telling them that you don’t speak Italian, in Italian
2) “Vaffanculo’ (F—- you!)
Delivered with a suitable gesture after you’ve been cut up (yet again) by an impatient Italian driver.
I just tell em in me best sarf laaandon, ize English innitI try and chose places I've never been to,then I build the holiday around that. This is a five week solo trip(as most of my trips are now solo)You simply can't do 5 weeks on a bike non stop.
For instance,I've stopped for 9 days in Anzio, the original reason was the Anzio landings, then simply build round that.Rome, the monastery, Anzio itself, surrounding countryside/coast to explore.Fair bit made up as I go along, but I make it up for me,no-one else.Doesn't always turn out right but its all part of my experience .
I try not to overly think my trips,I set destinations and go from there![]()

No idea what these tasteless things are, anyone?
Ah,yes or no as the case maybe.I tried a couple, obviously whole with the skinThey are called Lupini.
It’s a type of beans. You normally eat the bean inside and spit out the skin.
They are common aperitif food/snack (they’re super cheap for the bar to provide).
Yep, not very tasty.![]()
Bit pointless, unless you aim to fill up on em,cos I got given a big enough bowl, along with the bowl of olives and rather nice fresh bread. Not forgetting the hot, oily sauce, lovely.obviously whole with the skin

PerseveringGreat stuff
Love you randomness along the way
How’s the blisters ?

Being honest Steve, it's never really been my thing. As I have plenty of time on my hands,it gives me a nice time with a glass of wine/beer to reflect on the day and write it up.Whether anyone(apart from your goodself)gets anything from it,is an entirely different matterGreat stuff, thanks for the write up![]()

Loving your (and all who take the time) write up. It is read and appreciated and starts mutiple,work-time wasting daydreams of I need to get my 5hit in a sock and use my bike....Whether anyone(apart from your goodself)gets anything from it,is an entirely different matter![]()
