Quick question, my bike's due for an MoT soon and I currently have fitted a migsel light bar with spots slaved permanently to the main beam (i.e. they come on with main beam, they go off when main beam goes off) and HIDs slaved to the dipped beam on a switch (i.e. I can turn the HIDs on only if the dipped beam is on, however I can have the dipped beam on without the HIDs).

Would this setup pass an MoT or am I going to need to take the light bar and lights off to get it to pass?

TIA.

David

Should be OK

Just had my bike tested with FF50's slaved to the main beam and there was no problem. I think (though not entirely sure) that the only stipulation is that if they are fitted and slaved, they have to work.

Mine got through the mot with the light bar and additional lights.

They didn't even ask about them or test them :nenau

Can't see a problem with yours.

Jon :)

Technically, the main beam ones should be fitted with a switch and the switch have an illuminated means of showing that they`re on ( LED in the switch, etc).

However,I don`t imagine you having a problem....just like others here,I`ve never been asked about mine.

Last time I had mine tested I was watching the tester and he couldn't find how to turn the DE Fogs on (N/N Microswitch). He passed it without asking me how to turn them on. :nenau

Not if they are permanently wired to the mainbeam switch as in this case (the mainbeam telltale does the job).

Spot lights or Driving lights need an illuminated switch if they can be operated independently.

Fog lights are not tested on bike mot & as long as the dip beam can come on on its own its not a problem .
By the way the highbeam telltail is not part of the test
