A big thanks to Blair and the mechanic (sorry didn't get his name) who pulled out the stops to get me back on the road after the starter motor failed on my GSA. Managed to meet my mates at Mcdonalds in Kirky before it threw its hand in leaving me nursing a coffee and a frown whilst they blasted off to the ferry at Troon. A phone call to Blair put BMW assist on the case and within the hour the bike was up at Motorrad Central where the motor finally gave up. Fortunately for me a few blokes have been trading in their GSA's (can't think why?) so a starter motor was whipped off a showroom model and onto mine and I was on my way to the North West 200 less than 3 hours after the initial breakdown. Can't thank them enough for their help but without them would not have been able to sup large quantities of  , enjoy excellent racing with some cracking weather thrown in. So cheers to you all.

Always good to hear about a successful outcome, Blair (dude) can make things happen. :thumb

How far north of Glasgow are you Black John ?
Hope to see you on some runs this year, welcome to the site :thumb

Any relation to Bob Dubh on Skye
Real name Iain MacSwan but nicknamed efter his dug

No relation to bob dubh or his dog but my old man's family are from Bornesketaig(Kilmuir) and am regularly up there for holidays. Living 5 miles from Motorrad Central so it was kinda handy when the beast threw its hand in. Hoping to get to a couple of the run outs and meet the lads but the job gets in the way as I'm in the merchant navy and am away 6 months of the year.

Black Bob just retired fae the merchant Navy was only taking the p*ss on last post
Know a few lads in the merchant too
Seemingly it used to be called the Skye navy on the Clyde
Heading up to Kilmuir on jobs tomorrow.
got any family left on the Island
