Motoswitch problem

I have had a motoswitch on my bike (R1150GS) for may years and has worked faultlessly.......up until recently.

The right indicator has a mind of its own and switches on randomly. Pressing the cancel switch does not switch it off, but holding the cancel switch still switches the auxilliary running lights on as normal. The only way to stop the right indicator working is to hold down the cancel switch.

I have checked the obvious, like earths and possibility of corroded connections but everything seems to be in order. The annoying thing is it seems to rectify itself randomly as well and I can't get the fault to appear at home.

Any suggestions?

I designed and made the Motoswitch units in 2003.

The unit uses a microprocessor that looks for the indicator cancel button being grounded. The microswitches in the 1150/1200 switch units have been know to fail and can cause the problems you are describing - info here http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103062

Let me know how you get on

Thanks for the links Rob. Had a quick peep at the LH side and I need a smaller torx bit to get into the switches. I'll go in deeper when I get the correct tool. Gave it a blast with switch cleaner and WD in the meantime. Need the bike to go to work tomorrow so I will see if the problem persists. Works perfectly in the garage of course.
