Moving from 1200 SE to new GSA

Picked up the GSA on Friday, very pleased only done 80 odd miles so far but that wont be for long booked in for 1st service next week. The Akrapovic exhaust sounds excellent, so all in all very pleased. Easier in heavy traffic than i thought it would be no real difference to the GS, just loved seeing over 300 miles on the range!! No fill need till Wed!

"You're not weak willed really, it's just that all GS owners actually long for a GSA"

I like every GS BMW have done EXCEPT the 1200 GSA, it looks like an overgrown tonka toy.

Each to their own I guess... I have had 2 1150 Gs's and a 1200 Gs, just fancied a change and a few more miles between fill ups. It is a big brute I have to agree but so far handles beautifully and I loved Tonka toys as a kid!

What deals are out there? Is everyone paying list prices? or squeezing their dealer? Really interested in prices GSer's are paying for thier GSA's

Buy a bike when the dealers need to sell them to achieve their targets then you will be offered a good deal/package. March seems to be a good time.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to suggest it is a bad bike, it is a great bike no doubt.

I was just making the point that it isn't the holy grail for everyone :)

Wrong thread to have mentioned it on perhaps.

Mike,

Not the wrong thread, as been mentioned before each to there own. I've owned a 12GS and a 12GSA and loved both of them moreover both of them have been totally flawless and never missed a beat. I just love the look of my GSA but I'm not saying that my next bike might be a 12GS

No offence taken, I agree each to there own, I have avoided owning a GSA up till now as I thought it was a little OTT, but that big tank got me! And it is a really easy bike to ride, although not so easy to paddle back on when you have a short legs like me.

I hate when the dealers do that :) Enjoy the new GSA.
If it makes you feel better last week I put my F800GS in for a service,
and came out with a new R1200GS TB, only after they let me play on
a GSA... the tank is too big for me.

Have fun on the new ride.
