MPG

My TC fuel computer seems to work just fine. Had it down to 6 miles remaining with no problem.
Maybe the later systems work better. Floats and reserve taps? C'mon bendy, you'll be telling us carbs and points ignition is the way to go next.
On mpg, I had 500 and 350 Kawasaki two stroke triples in the seventies and anyone from those days can tell you what a thirst they had. I had an official Kawasaki workshop manual which stated that the 750 triple could return 90mpg at a steady 30mph.
Believe you could get them into single figures if you tried hard enough.
Stop poncing about and get some miles on it instead of obsessing about mpg. Or buy an Enfield. :D

As my bike doesn't have a fancy lardy da fuel consumption bollocky wotsit I'm technically not entitled to contribute to this wonderfully informative and entertaining thread, but I'm going to anyway.......

.....if your running out of fuel and your in mortal danger of being marooned almost miles from civilisation why have you left the engine running while taking a photograph? If you twatted around with camera settings only half as long as Giles does while snapping your masterpiece no wonder your low on petrol.

The RHS of the fuel tank holds about 2 gallons of fuel. Maybe someone has disconnected the jet pump to find out exactly how much it holds. When the bike runs dry on the LHS of the tank (where the fuel pump sits) adding spare fuel will not give the additional driving distance you'd expect because some spare ends up on the "wrong" side of the tank.
