has gone all clean now...no bikers allowed..

Now that is an understatement, they have even gone as far as NO LEATHERS.

it is sooooo poncy expensive they have ripped the guts out of the building it's just not the pub it used to be

Good lord. Are they actually not allowing bikes at all then!? Surely that's gotta be some kind of discrimination law they're breaking!

I'd say everyone should just go and hang about around outside, but hmmm, maybe not in that area :D

not in Ockham ?
I've heard tell it was turned into a berni or something of the like :spitfire

many years ago there was a very good biker pub in Ockham, - I think it was The Parrot, - I remember the stuffed Parrots around the bar. The pub was upstairs, with a restaurant downstairs, - for years bikers and meal lovers lived in harmony, and then one day, no more bikers. To get to off of the A3 there was a great roundabout (at Ripley), - and where we did most of the photo shoots for the old magazine, Motorcycle International, those were the days...

Still is, thought the road surface is shot to bits now, like everywhere.

Bugger Ockham - go straight on at the roundabout into Ripley are there'a a hatful of boozers - and a nice bike shop that does Enfields and the like. And a guitar shop.:thumb

i meet up with a few like minded bike riders, a few from this site on 1st tuesday of the month in ripley at the jouvial sailor. feel free to drop in for a drink or two form 8 onwards:thumb2 we're sat down by the big fire

was the photo shoot with that bloke from point to point... erm crap what's his name schiller paul, pete... whatever I think he use to get camera stuff from us in the photo shop. Seems like a life time ago

There is a "no leathers" sign, ignored it and had lunch. Not worth a special trip though

yep Colin Schiller (The beak or Emma Roid as one pseudonym), - he got an RG500 straight in his mush one day, - from Mike Heath ( I think). It was a hard days work actually going round and round that roundabout, - and I was fit then , - and when I could get in a pair of Dainese leathers that were a size 36"!!!!! I remember nearly taking out Chris Dabb's (now MCN) on that roundabout. He was racing in those days so would go much deeper into a corner than I would, - so I saw a gap on his inside, - that disappeared very quickly!

You weren't in Harpers in Woking were you? I would get my stuff from there,- I moved from in front of the lens to behind it.

yep guys you are right it was The Hautboy.

ian 916,

See years of drink and I'm still sharp as a spoon!

yep I was a harpers chap, for many years and then went out to find a proper job. In the old days I could sell f-stops to eskimo's or was it something else... anyway... Where did all go so wrong?
