Muffs, Gauchos and more 2010/11

It's not brain surgery.
Strap around headstock, with enough slack so the gaucho is not covering the fuel tank. The two lower straps loop around the throttle body inlet tubes.

The wire securing strap goes underneth the engine, but i don't think anyone ever fits those, i never have.
And don't over inflate the air cells.

Picture of mine in spain december 2005, 4am with thick ice on the ground and condensation on the camera :D And i found a way of fitting/using the tank bag without any problems.

Here's some more pictures...

As already said, lay out the gaucho's and wrap the strap around the headstock. I took it all the way around the hoses and cables because I didn't like the rubbing of the yoke.

Then strap the lowers to the injectors' inlet hoses on both sides.

Also seen above is the metal wire and strap which I tried under the engine, and shown again below.

Bend the metal inserts to shape the leggings to wrap around the riders legs.

Finally inflate the airpockets to some capacity that does not make the gaucho's stand up too much and allows them to cover you comfortabely and MOST IMPORTANTLY allows the riders to get their feet down when required.

I also fitted my muffs and took this lot out for a test ride. It all worked perfectly well, so far, through towns with feet down junctions, on the motorway for a speed test, and a bit of a lane (but not challenging in anyway, ; so far).
I used the round the neck strap successfully and managed to put it on and off whilst riding. The whole package works very well and I could tell the difference straight away. When it starts to get cold this lot will really pay for itself.

Thanks for posting your photos Paul (Ditch Water) That's really helpful.:thumb2 First fitting can be quite confusing and a pictorial will be a great help.

Thanks Val.

PS: do you mind if I copy these for future use elsewhere?

I fitted the Gaucho on my R100T :D

Top strap around the headstock, bottom straps around the carbs ( make sure you don't obstruct the throttle cables. Job done and still not sure how I managed so many years without it :blast :beerjug:

Got my muffs and shite bag on the R. Very good in the rain, especially using the neck strap.

They should. Yes.

Thanks Val, before I order some a mate want some for an Yamaha XT660 (with hand guards) will they fit? I think he tried Oxfords and they were too small.

Cheers

Rich

Received mine in lightning quick time, and got around to fitting them today. I am please with how they fit, a bit tricky around the brake fluid res, but can't wait to try them now..:thumb2

Thanks Val.

Hi, I'm new to this so please excuse any mistakes I make. I am interested in the muffs but not sure if they will fit over the handguards on my 1200 GSA anniversary which apparently has different handguards than a non anniversary model-any ideas?

Muffin'ell

Ordered and paid on Friday arrived and fitted Monday, now thats express service and a great product for this season.

Thanks Val

Minus 3 this morning and I had to turn my heated grips down! :clap

My unreliable Gerbings jacket decided not to work as usual but I still remained warm....:thumb2

Neckstrap?? I'd be a might concerned about what would happen in the event of an off, what's the strap like and do you think that's a concern. Do you actually need the neck strap or is it suitably supported just by the inflatable tubes?

I'm >< this close to buying one. My heated jacket's wonderful but the nether regions are getting a bit chilly on a longer ride.

Ive just bought a set of these(not from Val though)but i have no neck strap,
i gotta say that one of the reasons for buying these was for the strap, maybe its model specific:duno
