I've not had any problems with mine, but it looks as if the rain could hit the mirror then travel down the stalk, i've seen people cable tie the muff to the mirror to get a seal :nenau Worth a try :thumb

I did..

think of that and when I installed them I did cable tie the mirror stalks.... :D

Mick,
As well as cable tieing the muff to the mirror stalk I made sure the velcro seal was pointing downwards where possible before using the elastic cord . Are you sure you didn't leave any little gaps in the velcro where rain could get in?
I tried mine a few time before I got what I thought was a good seal.
Brilliant as they are they exacerbate my carpal tunnel syndrome due to the slight change of angle at which I hold the grips to the point where 18 miles =
numb right thumb and first two fingers whereas 100+ miles wasn't a problem so sadly they have had to come off
Regards
Matt

I've been trying to "train" mine to stop the pressure on the back of my wrist, but they are very stubborn at returning back to there original shape, I may resort to heating mine up and letting them cool over a 'former'

Yes...

had a look for possible leaking points etc...but I will admit I don't feel happy with them in general...feel they restrict my hand and arm movement, may be I should give them another go...or buy a pair of good waterproof gloves. They are a well made piece of kit by the look of them, but am beging to think they are not my for me....will think about it a bit longer before I decide wether to use or sell them.

Thanks for your input Matt..

how about an update Steptoe - who's sent you cash and isn't getting the stuff?

The water gets in down the mirrors.

St Eptoe has fitted his with some sticky sponge on the mirror stalk, to which he secured the "boot" on the muff with a zip tie, to get a decent seal.

If you park the bike on the lock, you have to be careful that you don't fill them up with rain that way too.

Don't matter if the rain does get in, it sits at the front of the muffs and doesn't get near your hands, and makes no difference to the warmth.
Mine are still just starting to dry out after a major soaking on Friday which included a lorry hitting a big flood in the nmiddle of the road and a sunami wave hit me, but my hands stayed dry still and warm.

Nothing will stop the water getting it as the velcro area and mirror bit all let some in, but has to be pretty bad, like Friday, before it causes any issues, and in all last winter I never had any problems staying warm and dry :thumb

Go look at the Frank Thomas ones to see how good these ones are

If you asked for a set, and sent the payment before i went away ( 10th Nov), you should have recieved your muffs .

How simple is that. :nenau

Not at all simple as it involves reading your mind :eek

Well I posted it with a cover letter identifying my UKGSer ID on the 8th so it's possible you didn't get it before you went.

So what's the situation - am I getting owt for sending you over £100 or what? So far I have *NOT* received anything.

FYI Steptoe you have a customer here (me) who's rapidly approaching dissatisfaction. I don't like being ignored then abused ("How simple is that"), having sent you cash for goods. Currently I expect to receive those goods PROMPTLY or at least some feedback on when I'm likely to get them. Did I ask early enough to get in on the initial order? Are they in the post? Are they about to be dispatched? Am I stuck waiting for the next order?

Come on Steptoe it doesn't take more than two minutes to keep customers happy with a bit of feedback. But if for whatever reason you don't want to do business with me, would you please post my cheque back to me. Winter's approaching and I still haven't got the stuff I was hoping I would get.

You might also like to add further info for those others who have asked, sent you cash or both and who haven't received stuff yet, but for myself I'd just be happy with knowing where I stand.

I arrived back on Monday night after being away since the 10th nov. I opened ALL my post yesterday 21th Nov, and also tried to earn a living doing some work.

Over the next two days i'll be packing the goods and sending them off.

The only cheques i've cashed are those who's goods have been sent, which was before i went away on the 10th Nov, at 5am, so anything that came that day was not dealt with, obviously.

I've your cheque here at the moment. Which I'll be sending it back to you this afternoon. Thats both our problems solved . Cheers.
