Muffs & Gauchos

I arrived back on Monday night after being away since the 10th nov. I opened ALL my post yesterday 11th Nov, and also tried to earn a living doing some work.

Over the next two days i'll be packing the goods and sending them off.

The only cheques i've cashed are those who's goods have been sent, which was before i went away on the 10th Nov, at 5am, so anything that came that day was not dealt with, obviously.

I've your cheque here at the moment. Which I'll be sending it back to you this afternoon. Thats both our problems solved . Cheers.

PSST Neil:)
you opened the outstanding mail on the 21st not 11th, even you ain't superman :thumb

had a look for possible leaking points etc...but I will admit I don't feel happy with them in general...feel they restrict my hand and arm movement, may be I should give them another go...or buy a pair of good waterproof gloves. They are a well made piece of kit by the look of them, but am beging to think they are not my for me....will think about it a bit longer before I decide wether to use or sell them.

Thanks for your input Matt..

Mick, how is it going with the muffs, or have you given up yet?
I would encourage you to persevere. They do feel slightly awkward as you try to get used to them, but lets face it so did the indicator selection and cancellation routine. I have had mine on for quite some time, and while it took a few rides to get used to them, I managed to.
As to the water ingress, I have not had water come in to them at all. Without questioning in any way whatsoever your technical capabilities (I said that so you don't take offence at what I might say next, 'cos I wouldn't want you to :D ) keep shougling (cannot remember if their is 2 g's in shouggling) them about until you get a water free zone. I confess that I took some time with a pressure hose to make sure - from the top (looking down to the ground) and the front (of the bike) and just kept using zip ties. I have hardly used my heated grips at all this year, in comparison to previous years. But when you do use them with the muffs on, what a difference.
I hope you persevere. :beerjug:

i am to think that you are sitting by the phone waiting for that call from that one customer ,or have got a life,or might you have more than one pair of hands ??

OK - I have only just come in on this one as I am a newbie.

Anyone not happy with their muffs - I'll dive for a pair.......if anybody is parting with theirs because they can't get on with them (carpel Tunnel man - sorry, too far back to remember your name :o ) then let me know and I'll try them out.

If not, does that Rag and Bone man have any left on his cart?

What can I do to keep my tail warm?

Quite unnecessary. All you had to do was let me know everything was ok. Still, if you prefer to overreact and permanently lose a customer to making a profit that's your business.

If you send the muffs and gaucho I'll return the cheque.

I think you will find that Steptoe does this as a favour for the friends/tossers on here & not as part of his business :nenau

To be fair, i make £2.30 on a pair of muffs ( a pint of beer) - but that doesn't include buying the paper and tape to wrap them in, and the time taken wrapping up 42 pairs of muffs and queuing at the post office to send them ( not a pleasant experience having all the old biddies moaning at you for holding them all up  ), and laying out over a £1000 to buy them in the first place.

I wondered how you kept that showroom, workshop and stores in such good order, you must be rolling in it :D

Au contraire mon ami, you might put £2.30 on a pair but if you were to cost all the incidentals above I'd suggest Sir is running this at a loss not a profit - and many of us are grateful for you doing just that :thumb

Still, as the saying goes, " there's always one" :D

And it is usually the one bitching and moaning without being prepared to do anything himself ....
