My arse hurts

Me and the wife have just done a 2 day trip to Scotlandshire and back, and bloody hell it hurts ! After a while the saddle feels like it is solid rock. Does it wear in, and if so how long does it take ( bike has 5800 miles on it) Failing this has anyone got any suggestions ?.
The only other problem is I suffered a lot of turbulance/wind noise off the top of the screen. Any suggestions ?.

i dont think so. mine has 40K on it, even though its new to me and its a numr after a few hours. im looking at getting it remodelled or a replacement when funds allow. either that or my but gets used to it.

No it does'nt get any better in my opinion. It's the one thing that bugs me.

Took my wife for a day out to the Peak District yesterday and then visited a couple of friends in Manchester before riding back home.
300 miles in total which is the most I've ever done and we were both in pain when we got back.
Only way we got through was to take a few breaks to ease the pain.
A lot of people on here use special seats like Sargent seats etc. I tried that and it felt worse than the standard GS seat and my wife said it's the worst thing she's ever sat on.

I guess it's trial and error. It could also be your build as someone told me I don't have the amount of "padding" around me as some of the GS riders around who may be a little larger.
Such a shame the seat isn't as comfortable as you'd think because other than that it's an awesome bike.

ERM, unfortunately i have to report that my boyish good looks, and slim figure left me many, many years ago. By no stretch of my imagination can i be called anything other than an ugly fat fecker

Second Gs I now have the Gsa ,I was hoping this would be more comfortable than my 07 gs but no if anything its worse Ive come to the conclusion that they need two densities of sponge in the seats ,for the 13 stone lardarse stock is fine for us trim fit boney arsed f*****s we need feathers
by the way missus says she's comfier on the Gsa but she's gotmore fat on her arse.

Do you have a GS or GSA? I had a GS, couldn't get comfortable, well more like it was bloody painful. Tried tilting, raising, lowering, gel inserts, no help. Airhawk good on motorways but not on twisties. Ended up getting rid of the bike.
Now have a GSA, seat started bedding in after 2-3k and keeps on getting more comfortable. Most comfortable seat I've had.
As for turbulence, different things help different people. Some change the screen, some use tobinators, some use spoilers, and some use a combination. I'm 6'4" and find a spoiler helps a lot. You will never get rid of it 100% though.

Get decent underwear. Dont use cotton. Try not sitting on seams. it's worth a try!

I had a standard '08 GS and had no problems at all, did 3 tours of Scotland,7-8 hour days.

Got a '10 GSA now and I hate the seat, it pushes me forwards towards the tank and I start aching and trying to shift position after half an hour.
My mate has a Sargent and loves it,so I need to borrow it for good long ride.
I've been looking at the Touratech seats especially the new Comfort Seat "High End - Actively-Breathing" has anybody tried any of these?

Really, I've never found this. I assume you've not got the seat height set lower on the front than the back?

Seat problems are always going to be subjective....we're not all the same size, shape, or weight.

I never had too much trouble with a standard Gsa seat....but have found the Sargent seat better....though it does take some getting used to and bedding in, and it is a totally different riding position in relation to your posture (in my opinion).
