Mystery Object

When I bought my 1150 GSA last year I found this in one of the panniers when I got home.
Can anyone tell me what it is and where it should be fitted?

Don't panic it aint a bit of a GS.

This is a clamp for the adventure panniers - there is a small hole on the side of the panniers that the bolt goes through and it should clamp around the bar behind.

I don't normally fit mine unless i have them fully loaded (rather than relying solely on the lock clamps at the bottom of the wing rack.

p.s. if you don't want it I will buy it off you as I have lost one of mine...

Black bit outside, wavy washer and hand tightened nut inside. There is also one for the topbox. I have the topbox on mine and it felt a little loose so I bought one of these from Motorworks, drilled the required hole in the box as it wasn't there, and now feel a little more secure.

AaAah, very clever. I will check for the hole tonight! I thought it was maybe part of a sat nav mount or something.

I only have the one as well, maybe we should toss a coin and the winner gets both!

They have a knack of coming loose so I drilled mine and tied them on small leashes to the back of the bike so they could never be lost

That's a muffler bearing - very rare to find one these days
